Pasts Rain (In Spirit We Are Free)
We roam through this world
Weary pawed and bleary eyed
Pushing forever forward
Hiding sorrow felt inside
They move on as we move forward
Past the spirit realm
They stand one final time
And smile where they dwell
Then they disappear from all
But deepest memories
We cry as they fade away
In spirit they are free
We can't move our paws again
Not in this sorrow made of rain
For we know that once it clears
None remain the same
Because it's difficult on the day
To see beyond the sorrow
May looking back in memory
Help comfort us tomorrow
We roam through this world
Weary pawed and bleary eyed
Pushing forever forward
Hiding sorrow felt inside
They move on as we move forward

the ghost
I don't know what I'm waiting for,
because I am a ghost and yet
I sit on my hands and wonder
where you've been -
I walk the forest in circles,
the methodical crunch
of leaves beneath my feet
and I remember
that you made me feel small,
and alone. here I am, facing
this brilliant hue that is me and myself
and I am the ghost but somehow
you are haunting me.

Absence
there is snow all around
and we have invited you in
but silence falls like night
and the winds carry no sound
I remember; it was by the river
when you carried me on your shoulders
I covered your eyes with my hands
and there was laughter
It was in the woods, I remember
you taught me to ski
it was getting dark already
and there was still a long way to go
and yet there was no rush
and we talked about the stars
I remember; It was by the sea
already after everything changed
on a cold day still full of joy
when we were all brought together;
there were few words, even then
but we could still see the shine
and the pride in your eyes
as I took h

self worth
Wanting for nothing
this budding rose
ready to wilt
along the stripped creek.
She's an arm's length
away, her taint some exposed
cove braving the sea
carved against the grain
of turning oceans.

This piece...just wow I'm pretty sure that's the first time in a long while I've cried while making a poem... this one just hit me HARD...
This piece was inspired by she's a great artist and a wonderful person go look at her gallery it's full of spirit.
The artwork that I used to inspire me was
"Sorrow in Rain" [link] and the song I used to help inspire me was the same one she used to help inspire her piece it's called "Ow" by Stephan Moccio you can find it here [link]
As a side note this would have been the first DA original poem I put up but it got caught up in limbo for a bit. Also the title is homage to her and the group she started that's really helped me step forward as a person and an artist.

I've read this a couple times and I haven't been able to figure out my reaction to it. I like the last two stanzas for flow though.
